I (yeah-conner) am a Kimberly Denise Jones fan because her lyrics got me through very difficult times. I got a felony on my 18th birthday for Burglary. I was on diversion for two years, didn’t have to go to prison like Kim did for her felony, however it was a life changing event. I started listening to Lil’ Kim about that time. She had JUST released her Black Friday song, (Nicki Minaj Diss) and it was one of the hottest diss tracks I have ever heard. It was even hotter than Tupacs disses to Biggie or Biggie’s disses toward Pac. And at the time, I already hated radio hip-hop, especially Young Money, and I disliked Nicki Minaj.

I then started listening to all of her songs. My favorite album is The Naked Truth. I could relate to it so much. Kim tells stories about being in the slammer and how she got there. She talks about how she is a real friend/thug/gangster/loyal bitch that didn’t even tell the truth even though JUNIOR MAFIA DID. They are ALL DUDES. The one female on the crew doesn’t even fess up and goes to prison for it. That to me is a hard bitch.

It really helped through what I was going through. I could relate so much to her lyrics about prison and losing someone.

I listened to her everyday and followed her and Nicki’s beef and YM. Kim is her own person, she stands up for herself. Her music alone is iconic. She is an icon. She is basically a living CHRISTOPHER WALLACE. No one matches her lyrics an her flow.
